DeLaney & DeLaney LLC represented Emily Herx, an elementary school language arts teacher who was fired for undergoing in vitro fertilization with her husband. A jury found that the employer failed to renew her teaching contract because of her sex and awarded her $1.95 million in compensatory damages and $1.00 in punitive damages.
